I do think the internet has gone a bit wild with this.. celebs with DUIs or dangerous driving infractions includes a LOT of people, but I also don't care about him, he's not come to defend literally anyone he could've so whatever.

Nah that LOT deserves all the vitriol. Literally tens of thousands of innocent people die each year because of assholes like this gremlin who thinks it’s acceptable to drive intoxicated.

The criticism he’s received has been appropriate, if not insufficient, as he gets to perform to a sold-out crowd a few days after the fact and gets to play poor little old me. Boo fucking hoo

I'm not boo-hoo-ing for him in any way, just saying people easily forget this for other celebs, I just want people to acknowledge this in the future for the same reason you're saying. He's not the only one and a lot of people get free passes and I hope this behavior get's condemned for all of them.

I get what you mean. I’m a Chris Pine fan and he’s had a DUI and there are a few users who bring it up when he’s considered the best Chris and I don’t blame them. You can’t defend something like that except move on and hope it doesn’t happen again. Personally I had a friend who was pulled over for an OWI and she never had a drinking problem or drove drunk but it was a wake up call.

All that to say, hopefully people learn, but he’s been problematic and this just adds fuel to the fire.

Oh, for sure, but I know in a lot of peoples’ mind it lingers and is unforgivable. Whether it’s because they were affected by someone who was killed or injured by a drunk driver or have dealt with alcoholics, etc.

It’s understandable. But some are lucky to live and learn and personally, I won’t hold that against them if that’s the case.

I pooped you but it's not about you specifically. I just disagree that the internet has "gone wild" with his arrest the way you're thinking. There's no discourse or PSAs that I've seen... it's all very run-of-the-mill for celeb DUIs in that it's not being treated seriously but as a big "HAHA!" moment for his haters.

This will sadly be a footnote in his career when it should crush it; same for other celebs.

He's extra stupid and deserves to be dragged. There's no excuse for drinking and driving, and he ran a Stop sign. He could have killed someone.

Turns out, he had already been stopped and given a warning by the same cop who arrested him. He was warned to stop driving and call someone to pick him up. Instead, when the cop left, he started driving again. He's a dumb, whiny brat.
