- Protected ranking is used for injury when a player out for an extended period of time can use their protected ranking to enter tournaments that they would otherwise not have the ranking for after the time out with the ranking system
- Stephens said she froze her eggs at 29 in 2022 and said a lot of planning has to go into it and the tennis schedule being relentless does not provide a lot of opportunity
- She talks about the impact on the body and how it affected her when she did it in the off season
- “it’s about time we normalize female athletes making choices for themselves and their futures,” she says. "Because no woman should have to choose between their career and their family.”
