As some may remember, last year Rina Sawayama called out Ratty Healy during her shows over his past racist comments. You can see the related posts here, here and here.

I love how Matty's comment is indirectly saying "well she's a racist too so what's the problem?"

yeah i was going to say celebrities whose brands depend on them appearing socially conscious have less room to mess up than celebrities whose brands do not depend on that. when people ask why one celebrity got into hot water over something but another celebrity did not get into hot water over something else similar.... the answer usually has to do with them having different brands/different audiences. rina walked right into this, against someone whose brand is him being an asshole and who after he got dragged to hell and back over the course of the past year has nothing to lose.

ive seen people saying paris apologized but i checked the thread about this collab on another site and apparently paris has still been liking MAGA posts as of a few weeks ago, so i don't think paris meant it.

let's just see how this dumpster fire unfolds lol.

Yeahhh I remember when I was a kid I use to want Britney to be more outspoken like the other girls at the time. Beyonce and Christina had a lot of female empowerment songs and I was like "why isn't Britney doing the same?" but hindsight it's actually better that never did cause she didn't make any promises or expectations, her agenda was solely to get you on the dancefloor ( ... )

That's why I am hating my fav Janet.
Rhythm nation, fight for injustice, etc and she stayed absolutely quiet about Palestine.
Not to mention she likes to put this no war bullshit videos on her tour, but she is touring now and not even one performative video interlude with #nowar

Yeah, Rina’s PR team needs to find a way to make her fans happy again and ASAP! Because Matty coming after her again doesn’t actually change anything, Rina’s fans already hated Matty and Matty’s fans already hated Rina, he’s just being an asshole. But Rina collaborating with Paris is actually alienating her own fanbase. I still like Rina but she’s gotta do something and fast!

Before Taylor made Matty famous I literally did not know who he was. I had probably heard his name in passing but I couldn’t have picked him out of a lineup. He didn’t even have a Wikipedia article until someone, probably Taylor’s team, made one for him. And now he’s at the center of all the dramas lol, who would’ve thought? I definitely don’t think all this drama is over yet and there’s still more to come. 🍿

I knew about Matty because I think The 1975 had some closeness to One direction near the end of the group's time so a lot of directioners picked them up. And some of my followers were hardcore directioners so by chance I'd see some stuff on my TL. I personally didn't give them much mind cause I (still) think that band name is pretentious since none of them were in even born around that year lol. Although I remember when I had the apple music free trial, I listened to their newest album which was probably the 2nd one at the time. I remember thinking it was catchy pop but I never thought about them or their music again ( ... )
