A vegan diet is not restrictive. I personally eat way more varied now than when I was still eating meat and dairy, and like me the majority of vegans I know.
Omitting certain food groups from your diet is restriction, but I get what you’re saying. Humans have barely scratched the surface and only eat less than 10% of all edible plant species. I googled.
You can get protein from foods outside of meat. She probably wasn’t eating properly being plant based and I know from my own experience of being plant based then going back to meat thinking my body needed it but really I just needed to add more variety to how I was cooking and what I was eating. Meat is actually really disgusting and lately I’ve been having bad dreams about chicken being rotten and poisonous so I’m going back. Idk I think in America we should NOT be eating half the stuff we eat. Even some of our fruit is fake and unnaturally seedless. I felt healthier and looked better on a plant based diet when I was doing it the right way.
"Even some of our fruit is fake and unnaturally seedless." What is the source for this? Like we have been genetic modifying fruits to be seedless but that doesn't make them fake.
What do you mean? To me that’s fake fruit. Why would I eat something like a watermelon that is genetically modified and not the natural organic fruit the way it was meant to be? That’s not weird to you? How is that any different from hormone pumped animals being used for meat?
GMOs don't make fruits or vegetables fake. They are not the cure all for world hunger but they are made to be resistant to pests and other things. We have been modifying crops for centuries (by selective breeding forgot this term! which is different than natural selection) so I don't see this as something wrong just something that we did and do now. Anyways, organic labels doesn't make a fruit or vegetable more nutrious.
I literally stated that it’s weird to me as in an opinion. I think it’s weird! Period. I think the history of fruit and vegetable modification is weird and I know it has happened for a while that doesn’t mean it’s cool. Like that’s my opinion or are you having a hard time comprehending that??
Ok but you’re acting as if I’m out here fear mongering or trying to push something because I personally feel like messing with fruits is weird. That doesn’t mean I’m not still eating a modern eggplant (well actually I’m not even if I could because I’m highly allergic to them) and that doesn’t mean that America’s groceries are quality because they’re not. Even our “organic” foods in the grocery store feel like a joke compared to when I’m in other countries for work. You don’t have a problem eating seedless grapes just say that and leave it at that because that’s as I plan to speak about it.
veganism isn't restrictive though. you just need to learn how to replace animal products with plant-based ones. that's it. most people who eat meat don't even follow a nutritionally balanced diet anyway
I hate to be technical because I get what you’re saying but omitting entire food groups from your diet is a form of restriction, regardless of having a million other alternatives
lots of vegan sources of protein exist. she just wanted to eat animals and should tell it like it is lol the implication that because she’s eating chicken now is what “toned” up her body is plain misinformation
