I wonder if pregnancy and nursing her kid influence her choice of including chicken in her diet.
I'm also thinking like a normal person who doesn't have access to more expensive meat-alternative and dairy alternatives heavy protein food. I don't love beans and tofu doesn't give as much protein as some other food. My body burns a lot of calories. I can't eat a lot in 1 sitting so 1/3 of my food always have to consist of chicken/pork/egg.
I tried and was vegetarian for about a year, more for religious reason. I'm too busy now atm to have more time than throwing some chicken in a skillet or air fryer.
I can never completely give up egg because of my high metabolism in the past, present and in the future. I can say I rarely consume red meat since I learned years ago that the cattle industry contribute to high amount of methane gas.
I'm also gluten intolerant so it's extra hard to find processed heavy protein food that don't have wheat in it. It's harder to avoid wheat than avoid meat 😬

I was wondering that too. If I recall, Michael J. Fox's wife went off her vegetarian (or was it vegan?) diet when she was pregnant with their twin girls. She just started craving meat one day & then made up for lost time by eating as much as she could.
3 months at the beginning of the period that I was vegan, my body was feeling weak, lethargic and I was ALWAYS feeling hungry no matter what I ate. One day, I realized it was because I was lacking in protein, I ate so much eggs to compensate. The hunger feeling finally stopped after 1 week of eating 3-4 egg with every meal.
I’m not wealthy and has been entirely plant based for more than a decade. With the cost of living on the rise especially with expensive animal products like meat have gotten it really has little to do with being “normal” or not. You just don’t want to eat beans and tofu as you stated it wasn’t a language thing at all lol
I’m in the US so it may not be the same but I feel like those who live in “food deserts” most likely can’t afford online shopping [prices are definitely higher, then add on service fees and tips (which I know is mostly a US thing, ugh. Though I do live in NYC and apparently a new law came into effect that delivery people receive a decent pay so you no longer feel obligated to tip but I haven’t looked into it too much) so it definitely saves time for those who can afford to but not for everyone].
Sorry, I am not trying to play devil’s advocate but a lot of the comments in this post are very close minded so I feel defensive.
Personally I adhere to a primarily plant based diet (not that anyone asked, but for environmental reasons) but I know it can be a privilege. Not for everyone. An acquaintance is more than well off and one time she said they *try* to do “meatless Mondays” and it’s like “how is it hard to not eat meat for only ONE day???”
Wow, did not realize I had so many thoughts at this time of night lol.
My original post and my replies to another person before that person are all about my experience?
I never use "we" once.
I even mentioned "beans" so I know millions of people who CAN eat them as sources of protein, even "religious" reason which means I know there's millions of people who can survive without eating meat due to religious reasons.
Do I implied all those millions of people are wealthy too?
I'm always puzzled when people say being vegan is more expensive, because I look at the prices of meat and fish and they are not cheap at all. It's so easy and cheap to put together a vegan korma with chickpeas and french beans
tofu is life and sweet and sour tofu >>>>>> sweet and sour pork any day of the week
like obviously meat alternatives like Beyond Burger, Quorn, Impossible Burgers etc are expensive but so are their meat equivalents tbh
I will admit that dairy alternatives can be pricier and I hate cafes that charge me extra for them, but LIDL at least has some really good products that are reasonably priced

What's with your aggressiveness?
I already said I'm ESL. I never implied she's not normal. Nowhere in my original comment implied that?
