I’m anything but rich and surprise surprise I’m able to be entirely plant based. It’s just a matter of saying my taste buds aren’t as important as climate change and animals’ lives.
I was gonna say, buying vegetables and fruits is soooo much cheaper than buying meat (at least where I live). The prices for chicken and seafood actually make me stay away from buying it.
I can see that. One of my friends rents in a more affluent area of Chicago and her only choices for food are Target or whole foods and she spends a lot more than me.
Vegan can be pricey if you're buying the all the pre-made meals, etc. I eat a bit of the vegan meatballs or chicken for certain dishes but I've figured out some tasty inexpensive dishes I eat every day.

I think it depends where you live, where I am fresh fruit and veg is very expensive but cheap processed meat is really cheap.

If your rent is more then 1,200 and you shop at whole foods, you aren't the demographic I am speaking of.
Gentrification has made things much worse for the lower income individuals in my city.
There is a reason that the free app Tubi has more viewers then the other streamers.
A large percent of the population cannot afford Netflix.
