I actually was surprised just cause how random!! But I guess it makes sense cause Rina has that early 00s aesthetic and Paris is very 00s nostalgia.
I always say if I was a celeb, I’d stay quiet and never make grandstanding announcements. Anyone who really wants to reach the top has to get their hands a little dirty cause keeping all your morals is not possible. Quiet celebs, smart celebs. No one gets mad at you or has expectations for you if you never made public stances at the beginning of your career.
This is overall is just cracking me up because Rina made a public statement about not liking Matty over the masters and the ghetto-gaggers stuff which fair bit lol girl Paris is not different from Matty!!
But it just goes back to concept of “that person was terrible to ME!! So fuck’em!! But this other terrible person was nice to me/convenience so it’s 🆒!! I’m not really bothered by it but I just find it all funny.
People thought Rina was better than Charli when they’re same. Part of me wonders if Charli is envious of this collab cause this seems more up her alley than Rina 👀
Yeah idk Rina’s career kind of reminds of Janelle Monae’s career in terms of starting out as a musician and having a primarily LGBT audience and then trying to get into acting, and I remember when Janelle out of the blue was like “I love Johnny Depp!” so I feel like this is just déjà vu lol.
I just assume all celebs are self serving now so I’m never disappointed lol because I already knew! Then you can be pleasantly surprised when there’s a celeb who actually has consistent values and morals. Melissa Barrera comes to mind.
Yeah Charli coming after Rina annoyed me so much because it was just petty mean girl behavior and she so obviously just did it because she’s engaged to Matty’s bandmate and she’s been blatantly pandering to that same crowd Matty was after when he went on all those podcasts but like, deep sigh lol. Everyone sucks here so it is funny to watch them all go after each other!
OMG Janelle!! I actually do miss her tuxedo/pompadour hairstyle era!! But I wasn’t surprised because I remember when she was promoting electric lady she mentioned on the breakfast club that she’s never had a #1 anything and she did sound a bit bummed about that so from there I knew she’d def chase fame in a way~
See I think is brave for standing her ground but I’m also not gonna be surprised if she fumbles in something else cause it’s unrealistic to expect her to be consistent. We’re not consistent in our own lives. She’s not a big celeb so I imagine she feels the heat of that backlash cause I don’t see any upcoming roles post her support. Even though she got lucky the internet supports her…the industry is still quietly blacklisting people.
Charli was so shitty for that!! I hate the idea of absolute loyalty in situations like that. But Charli is so obsessed with validation and acceptance and wanting to be in these cool circles (they’re not even relevant girl) which is why I thought that cool girls listen to ldr kinda insecure because I’m like “girl you wanna be that cool girl”.
Yeah Janelle is talented but she is desperate for more fame & Grammys & Oscars! I’ll still check out anything she does but I’m not going to be fooled into thinking she won’t throw anything or anyone under the bus if she thinks it’ll get her fame or awards… just like most other celebs. Charli is just… lol. I put her in the same category as Janelle, someone who is genuinely very talented but who also desperately needs the validation. But like also girl you’re a successful touring musician and you want the validation from some podcasters??!! (The same goes for Matty, i knew he must be insecure because why was he a successful musician going on THOSE podcasts?) They should be beneath you!
Absolutely, people put some celebrities up on a pedestal just to tear them down but they’re only human. It’s kind of a tiring cycle to see.
Yeah - and the entire Hilton family is close with Trump. Paris has said nice things about him and iirc she voted for Trump for POTUS. I think she was asked in an interview if she voted for him and she didn’t answer directly but giggled and said “he’s a family friend” so she prob did (if she bothered to vote at all).
But yes - back to your point - I think people have a general moral compass but then are willing to let things slide and develop temporary amnesia if/when certain opportunities benefit them directly.
But if you’re going to go on record calling people out for certain things, you should be consistent with it in your career. Otherwise it can come across as performative.

Yeah cause now her calling out Matty does come off performative even though she has a right to be mad. But it's like "oh you're only calling it out cause it directly effected YOU but Paris never slighted you so it's cool".

If I was Charli I'd be chuckling on my phone.
