BTS member Jin has completed his military service and is the first member of the band to be discharged. His fellow bandmates (minus Suga) came to greet him and celebrate. RM even brought his saxophone and played "Dynamite

you think if it wasn't for the utter failure of the vietnam war and the pushback that the usa would have mandatory army service

Hm idk. The reason I don't think so is just because we've always had a massive standing army just via people volunteering to sign up due to our weird cult of patriotism and the role that the military plays into that.

well there is a popular saying that i agree with

and also poor people and minorities having that as one of the only tools to get an education tbh

it also fast tracks citizenship. It cuts the 5+ year time frame down to 2, if a foreign national chooses to serve
