Chace Crawford, 38, originally had his sights set on Dillon, Texas rather than Manhattan's Upper East Side.
He wanted Scott Porter's 'Friday Night Lights' role so bad.
"I actually auditioned for Friday Night Lights and didn't get the quarterback and I was devastated at the time. I was like, 'Oh my God, I want that so bad.' But it didn't work out."
When the audition for Gossip Girl rolled around, the sting of rejection was still fresh. His nonchalance probably helped and worked in his favor, as those things kind of do.
"I was a little like, eye roll, like this is kind of - not beneath me, but I wanted Friday Night Lights. So I'm like - I kinda went in there with a very kind of blasé attitude."
