Yeah there are some things Iga has done that have made me kind of neutral to her as a player, but I think she's generally been a good #1 for the sport.

When Naomi nearly beat her (why god why) during her winner’s speech Iga complained about the fan behavior (which valid they were very noisy) and said it can impact concentration and that the fans need to understand there is a lot of money at play if the player loses and I was like… girl you’re a millionaire this is tacky.

Also the fans were rowdy the whole tournament and other players did bring it up but none of them used it as an excuse for nearly losing. She went on to win the other matches with ease and seems like the fan behavior didn’t bother her then. Idk seemed poor to blame it on the fans and not take accountability or maybe give more credit to Naomi. Bringing up money as a factor also didn’t sit right with me. Like yeah I know that’s what they play for but I wouldn’t bring it up

I know Jasmine is gonna be haunted by some of her misses but Iga was near unplayable since the Naomi match. Would have been fascinating to see how things played out if Naomi had won.

I doubt Iga will conquer grass this year, so I wonder what WTA player will rise up. I pray for Ons Jabeur but idk, I'm not sure where she is mentally these days. Naomi is already playing a grass tournament this week, so I'm interested to see how she fares.

As much as I would've loved it, I don't think Naomi would've been able to string together enough wins to take the tournament. Coco probably would've been able to take her out if she made it that far. But she played the match of her life against Iga and I was sad she didn't win.
