The latest episode of The Town shows how movies get green lit; They have algorithms (of COURSE) where you put in names, concepts, ideas, and it gives a numerical rating based upon past box office data and actors. Then the decision is made by useless suits people. Those algorithms aren't really pushing for prestige.

The actor with the highest impact, positive, is Denzel Washington. It's really interesting actually, I'll make a post later.

On the subject, I have no patience for Prestige TV. Too long. Give me a movie, tell me the story in two hours and we can move on.

The real problem with an algorithm is that it can never predict the next big thing, and people tend to suddenly shift to something new when the same formula gets tired.

I think the general public isn’t really interested in him anymore. He’s still niche as much as he tries to be multifaceted.
