I figured there wasn't gonna be direct references to Spirited Away but still I wanted it.

i feel like the only part that speaks to spirited away is her at the door in the beginning, with her hair flying up. this feels like a weird direction to go in with this song imo

Yeah that and escaping the place kinda reminds me of them leaving the bathhouse and I thought the outside scenes would be a reference to the Kohaku River but I don't see any water around?

I feel like it fits thematically with the lyrics when you don’t look at it from the perspective of spirited away. Anxiety, not understanding another person or the relationship, taking someone’s love away, etc..
