I think he was involved with some app/charity related to ending trafficking. Which on the surface appears nice, but he did some documentary where he watched CP videos as “research”. Which was just weird. I think the charity cut ties with him, but I could be wrong.

Yes, I don't think he watched them for funsies, but the police should have told him that even professionals can't handle that stuff. The LAPD is in Scientology's lap, so they probably showed him willingly. They may have also only shown him the lead up and nothing explicit. Even the lead up makes people ill.
