Showtime made a movie version in 2005! With a randomly excellent cast - Stephen Weber, Kristen Bell, Neve Campbell, Christian Campbell, Ana Gasteyer, and Alan Cumming doing an alarming impression of Colbert Report era Stephen Colbert lol. Worth a watch.

It was made into a musical in 1998. The LA production did really well so they did an off-Broadway version, which Kristen starred in. They later made a film adaptation in 2005 (which Kristen was also in). It was released on Showtime while the first season of Veronica Mars was still airing. I didn't have Showtime but some kind person on a VM forum offered to record it, make copies, and mail them to other fans. It's hard to remember what it felt like to love Kristen instead of being annoyed with her oversharing.

The first season of Veronica Mars is so good, but I do have to pretend that the last few years haven't happened in order to watch it. Honestly, I haven't rewatched VM since S4 because I was so annoyed with the way things ended so I guess I have to pretend that never happened too if I want to rewatch S1.

Her over sharing and S4 of Veronica mars has soured me so much on her, but she really is extremely talented IMO and I await the day she gets divorced (and then they retcon S4 and give us a new season lol).

I have not rewatched S4 since it originally aired. I am going to pretend it's just bad fanfic and not canon.

From what I remember of KB when VM originally aired, she did the required interviews and promotional work for the show without oversharing. The most off topic thing I remember her talking about was her dogs. I don't recall her talking about her boyfriend/fiancé (who she was dating the entire time that VM aired). In my mind, that means the oversharing didn't start until she was with Dax so I'm blaming him for all of the oversharing 😄
