yeah, I've accidentally said some very offensive things in foreign languages, so I generally grant people a lot of leeway when it comes to hearing something, assuming you understand the meaning and that it's appropriate to say, and then discovering very quickly that you were wrong. but you have to apologize and try to do better in the future. this... is not that.
