That being said, I am surprised she hasn't broken through yet. She has a dedicated fanbase and the music, especially on her last album, was very commercial and radio friendly.

I also just will say that I often like her more experimental stuff years after it came out. Like I did NOT get vroom vroom at first and a couple years ago I revisited it and realized how genius it is lol. So I do think she is often ahead of the curve a bit.

And I'm not shitting on Crash, I liked it, and I loved/was obsessed with Good Ones, but I have to admit it's an outlier in her discography, and it kinda feels like an album she would've made if she never made anything else after True Romance. It erases the existence of Chari, HIFN, N1A, P2 in a way. I understand why she made it, but it really seems like a non-canon album in the xcx lore.

i think she's fine where she is - she has her lane and her dedicated fans who will buy/stream her and sellout her tours
