Outside of K-pop fans, I don't think many people in the English speaking world are aware of the Burning Sun scandal, so I'm glad the BBC made this documentary. Seungri, a member Big Bang of one of the biggest K-pop groups at the time, was at the center of this scandal, along with other big names in the Korean entertainment industry.
MASSIVE Trigger Warning for this documentary because the scandal is essentially about women being drugged and raped, and then the images and videos being shared in a group chat. It's pretty horrific but if you can handle the content, it's well worth a watch. The documentary follows how the group chats were discovered, how the police colluded with the rapists, how journalists worked to expose what was happening, and how idol and member of Kara, Goo Hara, helped those journalists.
