I think she wants to hold him down as the father of her children (positive connotation). I remember how she drove him to rehab even though they were broken up or how when they got divorced she talked about sad she was thinking about how they won’t dance together when their children get married. She seems to really hold his position as the father to her children in high regard.

Yeah, I can see that being true but at the same time... it also feels like she's doing all the emotional labour and mental load of ensuring he's a good father who stays updated on their children's lives. I get wanting the best for your kids but damn, I could never, and would never, want to be her if this is the case. It seems exhausting.
