I have been flabbergasted by this all day but think I've finally figured out:

Since Brexit when they dropped the EU's water regs, there's been a national scandal about sewage in the waterways. This week, they've had to tell most of Devon to start boiling their drinking water because people were getting stomach issues from parasites.

So... all of this is explainable by contaminated drinking water going to people's brains. It is the only possible explanation for these results. My poor fellow countrymen have simply been poisoned

I think it's more that the threat of Corbyn becoming PM made the establishment go completely insane.

The only people who deserve the credit for the Tories becoming openly insane are the Tories. Cameron fucked up by trying to use the referendum to control party infighting (never thinking Leave would win), and he handed the far right of the party an opening. They’re the extremists and disaster capitalists of the party, they’re insane, and insanity was always inevitable if they got hold of the reins.

Corbyn didn’t do any of that, he just failed to be any kind of counter force because he was too easy to demonise

Yeah, but the Tories couldn't have done as much damage as they've done for as long as they have without the liberal establishment backing them up. Corbyn did a decent job limiting what they could do as opposition and could've won in 2017 and 2019 but both the media (including alleged "left" media) and Labour party did everything they could to sabotage him.

Starmer's Labour then proceeded to veer further and further to the right because they hate Corbyn so much, which has allowed the Tories to get away with whatever they want.

It’s beyond words. The absolute disconnect between the reality of that party, the literal shit they are doing, and what they claim to do is so blindingly obvious, yet people are still buying it. People will post dire photos as a “warning” of what a Labour Britain would be like, as if they aren’t photos of *literally Tory-run Britain right now as we speak.* It’s mind boggling
