She’s right. And further, as someone who is in the process of trying to have a baby, I’ve been shocked at what I’ve learned as an adult, from my friends/family having kids, that was not taught to me at a younger age or really any age, about pregnancy/labor/delivery. I went to an all girls Catholic high school and was only really taught abstinence only sec Ed, and even though we got more in biology classes, I honestly wonder why they didn’t teach more about what could happen from a biological perspective v. the whole sin thing. Like, the shit I’ve learned as an adult is much more effective at scaring me than the sin aspect. But I also think they purposely don’t tell women these things until it’s too late for you to NOT have a baby. Honestly it’s kinda crazy to me that our species has survived as long as it has and multiplied so hugely because this shit is CRAAAAZY.

I also laugh when health grifters pretend infertility is a recent phenomenon. Fertility statues existed for thousands of years for a reason.

Excuse YOU! It was the Weemen's fault for his inability to have a shit load of children.

Catherine and Anne had nine miscarriages between them. Which, as much as I’d love to add them to the long list of shit to blame that tyrant for, was nobody’s fault lol.

There is a point where you just have to recognise that you are NOT god's favourite, specially placed on the throne, that you need to stop having hissy fits, and that children aren't going to happen for you. Henry was such an ass (along with the medicine of the time because WHAT ? CONFINEMENT?). And to this day, society puts the blame on women if a couple can't have children. Hey, sometimes the sperm can't or the egg can't or whatever else because pregnancy is more complicated than people think, and that's ok.

I can't begin to imagine the stress of being married to someone like Henry 8th and HAVING to produce children.

I was so shocked when I found out pelvic floor therapy isn’t standard aftercare in the US. Like we’re really letting ppl walk around with an issue that they don’t need to have, or can be improved significantly, because ???( to any moms on here: It doesn’t matter how long ago you had a kid for it to work and improvements come quickly)

And apparently it’s only really existed for the last 10-15 years.

The US is barbaric - not letting women in labor eat bc a 1918 "study" said one woman vomited and choked to death? With zero other recorded instances of that happening since then. Mama Dr. Jones' video addresses this really well.

And yeah post-partum women - if they deny you pelvic floor therapy - just lie to your doc and say you have fecal and urinal incontinence! Insurance HAS to pay then from my experience!

I thought the eating thing was mostly in case they had to prep you for surgery.

But even then, the chances of you having complications due to eating are miniscule. In other countries you eat during labor, and still have way lower maternal mortality rates.

Oh that’s another thing. For a country that considers itself number one in many ways (not to mention the whole “pro-life” forced birthing culture part), maternal mortality rates are insanely bad. And the fact that the number one cause of death for pregnant women is homicide. And yet men still don’t understand why we choose the fucking bear.
