The way the internet is against Jennifer lately. Conservatives are going after JLO kid for "influencing" Ben's kid into "becoming non-binary", TikTok teens saying she stole her whole career and never sang anything, wine moms claiming Ben "looks so much happier" around Jennifer Garner, her album and tour underperforming... It feels like a hate train. And mostly not deserved.

some of these (like from conservatives or people judging bens facial expressions) is uncalled for but are we pretending it's not a fact that many of her songs kept vocals from other singers (uncredited black women)? and nobody who has ever interacted with her has ever had a nice word to say so that's not a pile on its everyone's experience.

even my friend who dealt with her many times during the original bennifer era says ben was nice and jlo was very rude to them.

her not cultivating a diehard fan base enough to sell out concerts is not the publics issue.

She’s not a nice person, but the “stolen” vocals thing has been blown way out of proportion. turning up a background singers vocals during the chorus isn’t anything new in music, and it’s been done by numerous artists, including black women

these weren't background singers who had their vocals turned up on a track they were singers who did the demo that had their vocals left in, passed off as jlo singing and don't see any money from it.

first, what are you talking about? I’m talking about the Ashanti and Christina Milian situation where they got credited because they also wrote the songs, so that was how they got paid. the backing vocalists don’t get a featured artist credit, that’s not how it works.
if they sang the demo and did not write it, but some vocals were kept that’s also how it works and another thing that’s been happening in music for ages. they got paid to sing the demo and they do not own the song. they don’t have the right to control what happens to it from that point onward. if you don’t want that to happen, don’t sing the demo.
