i just posted this in the roundup lol but i'm still shocked by how horrible dua sounded on one of her most recent songs (falling forever). she literally can't sing

lol same! but i sometimes like it when singers are reaching, it adds drama. i’m not an adele person at all but i’ve always liked that someone like you is set where her voice always cracks and even goes just a bit flat on the high note (to the extent that when i’ve clicked on live performances she changes the melody to avoid it)… it’s like wow she’s so desperate she can’t even sing right!

She is not the strongest vocalist but she sounds just fine on that track, she chose to sound like that, it's a creative decision, artists use strained notes and even vocal cracks to show certain kinds of emotions in songs.

if she wants to damage her vocal chords, she's obvi free to do so but i will not be accepting evocation as a reason for why she sounds awful on that track

I think she has a great voice and sounds good on this song
