I recently met a dog at a party who's name is the word "bitch" in my native language. The dog was adopted out of shelter, and had this name already, apparently.

The word has a very specific sound, and the language is pretty niche, so I am sure it is not a coincidence. They dog was very sweet, and i felt bad saying its name.

I left without bringing it up to my hosts.

Very curious now. And of course, you can't dodge every language ever, but this just eh.. drew my attention.

I work with European language translators and every time I see the Dutch for 'you can', I laugh like an asshole - 'je kunt' sounds like somebody from my hometown cussing you out.
