I’ve been listening to their (Coldplay) first two albums a lot lately, and wish they had stuck with that sound. Those albums are great.

I don't have an issue with artists evolving their sound and trying new things, but Coldplay chose the least interesting paths and basically became an EDM band. Their music sounds lifeless now.

True. But at least Coldplay maintained their quality for a few albums. Maroon 5 only has Songs About Jane. After that, they immediately jumped off a cliff.
