The numbers are in.
Dua Lipa's third studio album Radical Optimism debuted at no. 1 in the UK and no. 2 in the US.
UK Sales: 46,300 chart units in its first week, the most for any British female since Adele’s 30 in 2021, the Official Charts Company reported. Radical Optimism is Dula Peep's second U.K. No. 1 after Future Nostalgia.
US Sales: Dua Lipa scores her highest-charting album yet on the Billboard 200 as her third LP lands at No. 2.
Initially predicted to do around 55-65k, it actually sold 83,000 equivalent albums (her biggest first week sales in the US thus far). Of that sum, 51,500 were pure album sales. The album’s sales were bolstered by its availability across 20 physical variants, all with the same 11 songs.
For comparison, Future Nostalgia debuted at no. 4 in the US with first week sales of 66k.
