On the latest episode of The Cutting Room Floor podcast, Law - who’s styled Zendaya since she was 14 - talked about being turned down by Chanel, Saint Laurent, Dior, Gucci, and Valentino when trying to source looks earlier in her career.
He would contact the big 5 and they all said no because ‘she’s too green’, but after scoring the American Vogue cover 2 years later, he made it clear that the initial reluctance was not to be forgotten.
By the time she got the Vogue cover, she had never worn any of those designers and still hasn’t, apart from editorial shoots. She only started wearing Valentino in public after a major contract with the brand in 2020.
