She mentioned she takes medication for bipolar disorder and that it could stop her from trying. Besides, she has lupus and had a kidney transplant.

I think this is one of the reasons she treats her sister like a daughter.

She's also likely on an anti-rejection medication that can cause serious problems to the fetus. When transplant patients are on it, they have to sign something saying they won't get pregnant while on it.

Do transplant patients generally freeze their eggs if they're financially able? I know cancer patients do.

Some doctors may suggest it but likely, they would switch the anti-rejection meds to something that wouldn't cause issues but that takes some time for the body to readjust. Not that it applies to Selena but it's generally recommended to wait at least a year after transplant before even trying to get pregnant.
