I guess this is Jpop related? THE iDOLM@STER series is coming out with a new mobile game that, for once, doesn't seem half-baked! They've been doing a full throtal rollout of songs, content, and promotional materials. It's called Gakuen iDOLM@STER set in a school (wow, very original im@s i know love live bit off of y'all first but come on) and their main gimmick music-wise is that they hired a bunch of popular and well known songwriters for their contributions to anime, internet, and trendy music scenes.

8 out of the 9 produceable* idols have their songs out now, but these are my particular faves!


^ This is Sumika, a former professional ballerina who had to retire due to an injury. She seems like she doesn't care about being an idol and is just doing this for her friend but her song gives a bit more context. It's more likely that she's afraid to put her heart into something else knowing it could backfire on her.

Omgggg I play IM@S: Cinderella Girls Starlight Stage!!!!!! There were rumors the game will probably reach EoS soon due to Bamco focusing on Shiny Colors and Gakuen Im@s instead. 🥹 I haven't been checking up on the new series, so thank you for this!! Getting popular songwriters to write their music makes me excited ngl, it's probably going to be quite different from other branches and I cannot wait. Gotta have to check out the rest soon! You're welcome! Yeah I've been an im@s fan since 2008 and am buckled in for the good and the bad at this point lol

I believe the rumor about CGSS closing was like, half-true but it's also the most lucrative brand for the series at the moment so it'd be crazy to tear it down. They either planned to close it and postponed it OR planned to close it and decided not to AFAIK

I don’t follow too much jpop but I did see that Dem Jointz is gonna be working with Atarashii Gakko!. Which… is gonna be wild.

Any recs for Miisha Shimizu? Just found out she half Filipino while doing a quick search after listening to dont care. I have to support!

Ooh I had no idea Miisha's half Filipino, that's so cool!! So far I like Sugar, Niji, and Style. She's definitely got one of the most powerful voices that this gen's singers are lacking. I'm excited for her future releases! Purely just my personal taste but hopefully she goes into R&B route. 🥹

Also is this the right space for me to complain about Atarashii Gakko's "world tour" not coming to my city? I missed them on the first leg because they were playing the TINIEST clubs, only for them to skip us for their fall US dates 😭
