Ugh, agreed. Niche example and not the same thing but as a Below Deck fan, I hate when women pull the misogyny line anytime someone criticizes Captain Sandy. Nah, she just sucks.

I stopped watching after she fired Hannah. Hannah was trying to make a dignified exit, because she knew she was wrong for not declaring her meds. When sandy started following her around the docks to instigate some dramatic fight Hannah just ignored it. It just showed that Sandy was a petty small person. Prior to Hannah’s firing there was some deckhand that was still clearly drunk from the night before (I think it was a different season). Sandy continued to let him work but had a gentle conversation with him after the fact. Don’t get me started on how shitty Malia was that season too. Going on and on about maritime law and how awful Hannah was and that she was a drug addict and her anxiety wasn’t real. But then a few episodes later Malia is over the top concerned and fawning over Jess when she had a panic attack.

Sorry I still have feelings about that.

Don’t be sorry, you are right! Keep going! Like you said, Hannah was just done and ready to leave without dramatics (though she had every right to be upset and especially with Malia) but Sandy JUST KEPT PUSHING. And why??

And OMFG I can’t help but laugh whenever I hear “maritime law” because of that reunion. The reunion episode was soooooo frustrating.

I’m trying to remember the deckhand who was drinking under Sandy’s watch! I remember an early season with Capt Lee but she claimed it was meds she was prescribed and freaking Carver, and most recently Margot (she was dealing with a lot, not that that’s an excuse, but ugh, she at least owned up to it and immediately regretted it) with Capt Jason (unrelated, but so dreamy)
