Also, I've stumbled upon some concerning Bridgerton spoilers on Twitter, and I really hope they're not true

Yeah, I saw that too and multiple people confirmed that they actually saw these episodes
I already know the script for the first episode so I’m not excited for the premiere, because I don’t really care for the rest of the characters

Jonathan was filming Fellow Travelers in Toronto while Bridgerton S3 was being filmed in London. He filmed Bridgerton but I don't expect Kate and Anthony to be in S3 a ton.

Yeah he said actually that he had to film his Bridgerton scenes at the same time as him filming Fellow Travelers or Wicked maybe? I think those three projects kept him VERY busy the past couple years. Whatever he described sounded very exhausting.

I could see them reducing Kate’s role to accommodate Jonathan’s schedule.

Wicked was filmed later, but he was prepping for it while filming Fellow Travelers and Bridgerton

I get the lack of episodes due to other commitments, but if that is the arc that they chose for them, I really hate it

EXACTLY!!!! She's the new Viscountess, it was supposed to be her!!
And also, they could have used her as a mentor for Francesca, to help Eloise find her footing after her scandal...using her character's arc in season 3 just for that is so incredibly disappointing

I agree. I know they'd have to think of some reason to write off Anthony so Jonny could film, but like, Anthony has lands - there could be some crisis with them or his tenants. There are ways they could have sent Anthony off, but kept Kate around. She's part of the family now.

EXACLYY!!!!!! she's the head of the family and had common interests with some of them, have her talk with Eloise about progressive ideas, paint with Benedict, talk about grief with Violet, play with Newton and the two little kids!!! There were so many options!!
They also could have filmed bedroom scenes with them on the weekends that Jonathan was available, and then make it like he was busy with parliament during the day and could only see kate on nights/evenings, and have them talk about her integrating with his family!! so that they might have a few minutes together each episode, and still have Kate there for the Bridgertons

I think there are many ways they could have written her in, but not him.

Like, Daphne is always going to be part of the family. But she has her own now. Her own babies, her own husband, her own home that she has to run. The Bridgertons are literally this for Kate. She has responsibilities now.

Hopefully, next season we see Violet get her own townhouse like in the books. Let Kate really get into the viscountess role.
