Considering how outspoken Ryan is about supporting women, I'm really surprised this made it into the movie. Not that he wrote it but still...

if producers make sure things are on track, I wonder how much involvement he had. Not to absolve him of this, bc he is a producer, but I can't say I know what they do besides beg for the money and kanban.

Not sure of Ryan's direct involvement but producers are basically in charge of hiring and also see a project all the way through from buying or soliciting a script, finding the money, hiring everyone, keeping payroll and making sure the administrative aspects of a movie are going forward.

With something like this they are in the editing bay working with the editors and director on the final cut.

That's just to say there would have been MANY people in the room to decide to keep that line in. This isn't some indie project. Like a minimum of the director, at least a producer (likely more) and one editor (likely more) collectively made the decision to keep that scene.

Wow, that really sucks even more, the fact that multiple people just said "ok, sounds good!"

producers also just gap finance sometimes or simply become matchmakers, bringing so and so on projects and using their network. Producing credit is vaaaague af but this is something they should've caught at writing level.
