I first found a TT but it was all coded because of censors and I couldn't understand a thing. Then I found a wattpad explanation that gave me SOME idea. Then I found a Quora QnA that explained it in simple English.

You know, I really don't know what I'll say when our Alien Overlords finally come to take over the Earth and ask what is wrong with humankind.

I'm an open person, but everyday, I find myself being tested. I know it's all fictional, but at some level, it's also fantasy. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it and don't really understand because I've never read these types of books. Maybe I'm actually a prude.

lol I'm so sorry you had to become aware of this trope! It's been in fic (m/m) spaces for well over 10 years now along with the ABO/Omegaverse stuff since they go hand in hand of course. It finally hit the hetero romance spaces within the last...2ish years I think? and so now it's just gotten even sillier lol Plus the japanese/chinese/korean comic book writers became aware of it too within the last few years so it's just kind of exploded everywhere.

Admittedly I always love me a good ABO story because they're just fun when written well. I refuse to touch it outside of fic/comic spaces though because we all know it's the worst written stuff that gets published.

In any case, you're not a prude, it's not for everyone understandably so!
