Valid reason to hate him: he didn’t pay his original bandmates. They had to sue for back payment like 6-7 years ago.

Personal? They were ~*my*~ band 20 years ago. My bff & I saw them a ridiculous number of times so we had a familiarity with the band. He very much liked the adoration of being the lead singer. He and i had a heated interaction a dozen years ago that we both apparently remember. Or he did the last time I saw him. 🤣

During one of their last tours, they asked the audience if there were any guitar players who wanted to join for a song. Robert rooooasted the guy at my show. I told him it wasn’t cool after the show. We went back and forth. I called him a dick. He was like “you’re out of line!!”
Fast forward a couple years… he’s doing a solo thing and I saw him open for another band. This was the night the cardinals won the world series so my bestie and I were white girl wasted. The show is over and we’re playing foosball with some guys from the main band. Somehow the story comes up. They were like “that was YOU!?!? We heard about you earlier…” 🤣🤣🤣

i never listened to his band but i've heard multiple times that he sucks. the princess diaries is my favorite movie so he only exists as a character in that film and not as a real person to me.
