ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin ("MHJ") had a press conference yesterday (today?). Needless to say, it was a shit show. I reccommend reading the full twitter thread, as I'll only be giving highlights.

She is def obsessed with youth and as part of that sees NewJeans (the concept not the individual members) as an extension of herself which I think is bad for the members.

And like if they leave their careers are done. Breaking their contacts will cost them so much money. It would take MHJ years to get a new independent label up and running and Hybe owns the rights to the NewJeans name and songs so they’d have to start all over. And by the time they could, everyone will have moved on from them.

by constantly bringing them up, she's putting the members between a rock and a hard place. if they go with her, the early termination fee alone could end their careers. if they stay with HYBE, it could be construed as them choosing money over loyalty to the woman who gave them their careers. I don't know what she's expecting them to do at this point, or what outcome she actually wants.

Another thing to add to MJH’s list of sins: my fucked up sleep schedule. Lmao I could NOT stop watching the train wreck of a press conference last night and was up until almost 2 AM.

Her defense to the alleged criminal activities seems to boil down to “I was just joking!” And then the rest of the press conference was her spending nearly 3 hours going over lists of grievances from the last like 5 years to justify her actions.

The press conference showed that she should never have been a CEO. She also came across as extremely manipulative imo. Like bringing up the members by name and saying how upset they were and how much they cried? Come on. She should be trying to leave them out of this as much as possible for the sake of their future careers, not tying them to her and her mess.

And she is SO bitter over LSF being pushed to debut first and like why? Both groups ended up being successful so get over it????

she and hybe are fighting over who is "involving New Jeans" and the public is taking her side so this is going to be a massive mess

i think she's upset about lsf debuting first because it was the first girl group associated with bts, and the first group of her own after like 20 years at sm. all that thunder was (in her mind, and maybe was promised to her) supposed to go to newjeans.

she definitely seems like the kind of person to hold a grudge over them debuting a just a couple of months earlier.
