Two pro-Palestine protesters were removed from American comedian Chelsea Handler’s show on Friday.
One of the protesters was heard shouting, “Children are dying with our tax dollars.”
Handler then requested for the protesters to be removed from the venue.

The university has investments and some of the investments are for defense contractors or weapons manufacturers meaning those investments are indirectly used in Palestine against people. Killing tens of thousands and also starving millions. (Famine is a weapon of war)
It’s not just Columbia. Yale and MIT do too and that’s why students are supporting the Columbia university protestors.
Besides this, the university staff (i.e. professors) have also walked out en masse after seeing the abhorrent treatment of the students at Columbia by the administration. Admin called NYPD to come (NYPD is super corrupt btw) and they arrested 108 people for protesting.
Americans have the right to protest/gather for protesting and to call out injustice. It’s in the constitution iirc. (But I am not American so if it’s not First Amendment please do correct me!!!)

I remember over a decade ago there was always a guy on my campus yelling at us that we were all going to hell. That man was never arrested.
I am confused by the claims of "threats" and them moving to "hybrid" classes. Like who is claiming to be threatened and how are they being threatened?

The problem is that if there is a real issue, then that won’t be reported properly. I feel terrible for those affected students.

NYU, UC Berkeley, Cal Poly Humboldt, Emerson, UMichigan, and Tufts have joined them.
This level of inter-campus solidarity hasn't been seen since the anti-apartheid movement in the '80s tbh. I wish we'd had the same level of coordination in the Noughties when we were protesting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but we weren't as savvy and had anti-terrorism laws and public opinion against us.

- Columbia students were protesting in a designated student protest area on the campus
- The university sent a written request to NYPD to clear them out/deal with the situation
- The cops arrested like 100+ people
- Columbia suspended the students so that they could be then charged with trespassing on campus
My friend sent me a video from campus today and there is a huge line of NYPD up and down the sidewalk.
