51st Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations Announced!

On April 19th, 2024, the full list of nominees for the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were announced by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). 5 categories were revealed on the 18th in some sort of preview event. While the Daytime Emmys award a wide variety of genres across the board, this post will focus on the acting Daytime Drama Nominees.

First, some observations:
- General Hospital received a minimal amount of nominations this year, which was surprising as the show won in 4 of the 6 acting categories as well as winning the Outstanding Daytime Drama award as part of the last Daytime Emmy Award cycle.
- Iconic Australian soap opera, Neighbours, received nominations in the Outstanding Daytime Drama and Outstanding Guest Performance categories! This is likely due to Neighbours being available on Amazon Freevee, as the show never received nominations while it was being aired on regular Australian television.
