He mispronounces Joaquin's name, doesn't he? Like the way British people mispronounce tacos.

Those must be the posh Brits. We don’t typically say it like that in the north.

There was an entire episode of Great British Bake Off where Paul Hollywood butchered the word. He kept saying TAY-KO over and over, that might be where this comes from.

As a White American, I'm glad that I'm saying this correctly.

And he’s mispronouncing Joaquin‘s name?

Now I’m questioning if I pronounce anything right.

she says this actor's name (also Joaquin) on the first few seconds

To my untrained ear, it sounds like she’s saying Wack-een.

I’m going to look through some videos with Joaquin and try and learn the difference. I don’t want to get his name wrong.

you pronounce the J in a harder way, more similar to the H in "hoe" than to the W in "week"

just noticing that this also illustrates the difference between spanish laughter "jajajajajaj" vs english laughter "hahaha"

ETA if you really want to pronounce a J properly, just grumble from the back of your throat. JJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJoaquin.

Joaquin Furriel, Argentinian actor.

I saw him live on theatre once and he's even more good looking IRL which is so unfair lmao

He's the only famous spanish speaking Joaquin I know

Brits seem to make a meal out of mispronouncing foreign words - like fillet, genoise, etc.
Yes I mostly notice this on Bake off.
