i’m clocking in for my first shift as anna sawai’s emmy campaign manager (seriously, one hell of a performance - do i need to watch that monarch show for her too?)
i saw so much hype for episode 9 in particular and it still floored me. [Spoiler (click to open)]mariko throwing down the gauntlet with the regents, the fight scene inside the walls, blackthorne volunteering to be mariko’s second, obviously the ending… i had a bad feeling mariko was a goner based on her overall arc, but the twists and turns had me GRIPPED. i have no idea how they’ll wrap everything up in one episode, but at this point i have complete faith the writers nail the landing.
