Caitlin Clark made an appearance on Weekend Update last night just as Michael Che made one of his trademark sexist jokes about women's sports. Just before the camera panned to her, Che remarked that Clark's jersey number was being retired from Iowa State and would be replaced with an apron. After a highlight reel of Che's past jokes about women's basketball, Clark then had Che recite some jokes that she claimed to have written (seems doubtful but who knows). The segment ended with Clark gifting Che an apron signed by her. Clark also took time to thank the women's basketball icons that paved the way for her success.

Some viewers questioned why Clark was invited instead of a member of the winning University of South Carolina team, but given Che's open hostility towards black female athletes, it was probably best to keep them out of the line of fire.
