The Beach Boys were a staple in my household growing up and my parents have seen them a couple of times. “All Summer Long” and “California Girls” have to be my favorites.

Lmao there’s a scene in Scrubs where the Janitor and other staff acapella it and that’s also amazing

My sister told me that the first time she heard Barbara Ann was on Saved by the Bell!

Nice! That was definitely my first time hearing it too. I think most Beach Boys songs I have a very specific instance of hearing it for the first time, like “I Get Around” was from the intro to the movie “Look Who’s Talking,” “God Only Knows” from the end of “Love Actually,” “Kokomo” from a Muppets cover, etc. lol

The Beach Boys hold such a place in my heart. I'm still in my 20s, mind you, but I was driving around to Pet Sounds, Sunflower, Smile Sessions, and-last but not least at all-Surf's Up when I got my first car.

Surf's Up is one of the most incredible albums I've ever heard. My hands-down favorite Beach Boys song is "Disney Girls (1957)". Such an incredible time capsule of nostalgia, longing, and musical prowess. Bruce Johnston might be a horrible republican nowadays, but his voice on this track is like no other.

i love that it was written in response to the ronettes, and offered to them but fuck phil spector forever, and then eventually ronnie (rip) recorded it.
