I really liked it but I was a little distracted wondering who from Devs would appear next. Devs was such a great gowns beautiful gowns miniseries.

I loved Devs because I loved the quantum computing aspect of it, even though fantastical and existential, it was made well and like all sci fi shows it plays on science because quantum physics is all about propabilities which of course they ignore the propagation of error but that is what makes it sci fi. But seeing Sonoya Mizuno in an Alex Garland thing is kind of normal now (after Annihilation, Ex Machina).

Sonoya is the ultimate regular she's been in everything he's directed.

Devs had potential, but I ended up hating it so much….Nick Offerman’s character, his damned janitor turned assassin/James Bond. And they teased us with some truly fascinating ideas, only to reduce it to the most cliche plot in the end.
And I’m sorry, but Sonoya cannot act. I thought for one brief moment she would be revealed to be an android or something.

I tried to give Sonoya the benefit of the doubt for Devs and chalk it up to Garland's direction, but she was exactly the same in Civil War so idk. But she can indeed dance!

Devs had a wonderful premise and some great aesthetics, but it just got way too hung up on various things and didn't explore its full potential.

i know this isn't the point of your comment, but i was convinced i read on sonoya's wiki years ago that she was dating alex hence their constant collaborations. turns out i made that up and he's married to someone else lol. but yeah she's terrible on hotd too

She was so bad in Devs. Epitome of wooden.

It takes a lot for me to notice bad acting, but she was so, so bad that I couldn’t take the show seriously
