Where is my official Orville renewal tho? I know the rumors lately have been v. positive

I need to finish S2 of SNW. I like it the best of the Trek offerings but I still wish we weren't back in that time period of Trek history. I am a 24th century kid.

I believe that happened this week.

I know one of the big fan accounts came out last week and said Orville was renewed for S4, but that it would be a bit before the official announcement and production begins. I'm absolutely fine with waiting, the wait for S3 was very long and what we got for the wait was incredible, beautiful television. But I am ITCHING for them to give me an official announcement. I don't trust! but I do know Seth said in January it was 50/50 and I heard in Feb/March that the writing process for S4 was already underway

I heard it did!!

So my family and I started that show on whim, we like sci fi shows and while Seth Mcfarlene can have shit humor, I think he has really tried over the last few years to chill out on some of his earlier style jokes.

The first season I was eh on, liked the second season a bit more, but omfg I love it now after the third season. Hulu gave it the budget it needed and I feel like they gave the writers more leeway in how they wanted certain storylines played out versus Fox.

you have no idea how much I resisted watching it because of my dislike for Seth MacFarlane's other work, actually. I was like, no, no, not a Star Trek show from the "we've seen your boobs" guy! but my roommate forced me to sit down and watch it and now I'm pretty mad at him for having this ability within him all along and wasting it on stupid juvenile humor

it really does improve with like, not just each season, but each episode. following a true Star Trek trajectory of getting better and better. Season 3 was just outstanding imo, they managed to make the show feel like it had a longer season than it did because they allowed for episodes where it was just character stuff and not GALACTIC PERIL all the time.
