basically [Spoiler (click to open)]the traitors were just awful awful people (mainly Sam little arrogant piece of shit) and they were so obvious the whole time but the faithfuls were so so dumb and kept messing up. but! at the finale they got fucked over so it was a delicious ending to a terribly frustrating season

[Spoiler (click to open)] What was controversial about it? I’ve never seen it but I assumed that was the premise - that the traitors would be evil schemers?

[Spoiler (click to open)]eh usually the traitors are at least charming and you do end up rooting for them most of the time. They're at least clever, which these Traitors weren't, they just got repeatedly so so lucky. idk everyone was riding Sam's dick and believing him the whole time despite a ton of faithfuls calling him out before being mysteriously murdered or banished. it was just painfully obvious and not enjoyable to watch. it's been a while since I watched AUS2 so I can't give precise examples but I remember loathing Sam, like painfully so. and his acolyte was just a pathetic little spineless sack of shit too. like at the end they argued that the third traitor should've just like, handed them the money, because they felt they deserved it more. it was sooo nice to see them spiral.

The Traitors were called out multiple times and every time a Faithful would say "this person is a TRAITOR" the Faithfuls would vote out the person who called out the Traitors. Every.single.time.

Annebelle or whatever her name is said "Sam is a Traitor. Flat out"
Faithfuls "you're really outspoken? Thats suspicious. We're going to vote you out and it'll tell us if we're wrong or not"
*Votes out Annabelle* "I'm a Faithful"

Faithfuls act shocked. Next week - Luke says "Sam is a Traitor!"
"Luke....you're really being suspicious for saying that so we're going to vote you out"
Luke: Im a Faithful
Faithfuls act surprised.

Pretty much.

A traitor Literally murdered the person who called them out and The Faithfuls were like "who could the Traitors BE!?!"

He literally said who it was before he got murdered that night! HE TOLD THEM DIRECTLY WHO IT WAS AND THAT HE WAS GOING TO BE KILLED. AND THEY COULDN'T FIGURE IT OUT.

This season really showed that all it takes for a guy is confidence and a certain look and men of questionable intelligence and low social status will look up to them like a god.
That low IQ guy he was taking along to the final, who called himself a fanboy of Sam, did all the dirty work for him because he was so easy to manipulate due to his blind admiration. Even the old guy with an insane background in detective work didn't ever even suspect Sam because he fell for his charisma and confidence. Men will always gravitate to the alpha male and dismiss female voices.

It was that the Faithfuls kept being ridiculous. The main Traitor was so super obnoxious and obvious, he was constantly being flagged. Everybody was *constantly* agreeing it was him, and agreeing to make plans to take him down. They'd get the votes together beforehand, get to table, he'd be accused. Then he, as you would expect, would point the finger at whoever accused him... and like sheep they all just immediately went "okay person we've all deeply suspected this entire time, we believe you about this person we have never suspected before!" and vote out the accuser.

Which you might understand once or twice, especially if the Traitor in question is well trusted, but nobody trusted him and it was every damn episode. Whoever was coming for him would get banished or murdered, they'd all agree it was him... rinse and repeat, let him stay. It was MORONIC.

it's also important to point out it was often women calling out traitor sam and sudden he'd turn it so that them speaking up was suspicious. it truly felt like a literally witch hunt on outspoken, CORRECT women. seeing him get what he deserved at the end thanks to a woman was satisfying but the whole season was also such a bad reflection of life too...
