These ONTD comments have my head spinning - how can one be an escort and yet they graduated from a top school?! Don't these students have all the evil corporations like McKinsey just waiting to hire them?

Say it ain't so, ONTD. I don't want to believe that.

I would think the same but that the cut article about “defense for dating an older man” came from a Harvard student who already come from a well-off family.

But I think in general I think some women want more money, more power, more connections, and more security regardless of their economic status. Also I think a major factor in this thinking has to be the upbringing. What was she being raised with to cause her to focus on getting sugar daddies or really rich men instead of focusing on herself and making use of her education to enrich herself professionally and financially?

Cause I know people are saying her dad is “broke” hiding out in Bali and I don’t know Kimora’s situation but regardless she had a better start up and more connections to work with than most people can say which is why I’m surprised of this escort/yacht girl business if true (hope not though).

Her degree is in Classics so that's doubtful. But also, Aoki is still a Blasian woman from a new money family. She's not who those people are checking for.

i know people who went to top schools - like harvard- and for whatever reason weren’t able to make connections with their rich classmates and then struggled to find jobs after graduation. the benefit of these top schools is more networking than the actual education so if you struggle to network you might still have a hard time

and i also do know people who went to top schools and became escorts so it’s not unprecedented :/

see, i never expected her to get a real job with her degree. she got it and then she'd just model or design a baby phat spinoff line or something. maybe the fam is way broker than i thought.

I always wonder this about people who go to private schools for high school. ~Lifelong networking opportunities~ but is that dad of your friend in math class honestly hiring you?

In my experience - didn’t go to Harvard but worked there part-time when I went to a different college in Boston and hung out there - maybe not the dads of your friend in math class, but the dads of your close friends or friends from on-campus organizations, they actually do 😭 especially for fields like consulting.

Buuuut, to get in those social circles in the first place, you probably already came from the same background as them, coming from a rich family, going to private schools or boarding schools that cost as much as college, vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard, etc. If you’re one of the lower class or middle class students you’re going to have to deal with a lot of BS to get into those social circles or just struggle to fit in.

about 40% of my graduating class went into banking or consulting. but I also know people who are now teachers, librarians, park rangers, writers, lawyers, researchers, and I myself am a lowly government worker. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Okay, so I actually disagree w/ some replies lol. I don’t think it’s unusual for beautiful nepo-babies (regardless of race) to be photographed with wealthy old men. If I came from money, it would be more likely that I became sugar baby, not less likely.

When you are born naturally attractive, AND born in proximity to wealthy men… what could be more natural than exchanging your time for money?

I know someone who was in an MD/PhD program at one of the top schools in the US so they didn't have to pay for medical school and they were paid a stipend. They left med school to be a sugar baby to a doctor (at a different hospital) and is now constantly traveling. Their ig is just trip after trip after trip at Michelin rated restaurants and shopping at designer stores.

I think ultimately she didn't want to work and this is one way to afford her lifestyle.
