can't have a hikki post without

my first song was simple and clean ofc. i remember kh fans created a rumor that kh's theme would be final distance m-flo remix and i burned it on to a cd thinking i'd be soo cool knowing the theme song early.

Okay but we all have to acknowledge that "Doing my 9 to 5, I'm thinking 6 and 9" and "hunnies if you're gay, burn it up like a gay parade" are amazing lyrics

I'm not feeling eloquent enough to put into words the influence Hikki has had in my life ever since I first listened to Ultra Blue all the way back in 2005. It saddens me so much that their music stopped appealing to me. But they will always be queeng in my heart.

as a certified Old Person it's sooo surreal to see these music videos in this kind of quality (and on YouTube? for free?)... I was obsessed with Passion and used to wait for it to load on dial-up so I could see it in what was probably 144p lmao

good on her and her team for preserving her work like this, other Japanese artists could take notes :^)

Same omg, I used to frequent websites with J-Pop videos in Real Player format, with the worst resolution ever, but omg, it was the only way I could watch these music videos from Japan and I used to be so excited haha. Time flies 🥲

Idk if it's a matter of taking notes. In Namie Amuro's case, I think there's something going on with her label because an artist of her calibre doesn't just book a sound engineer to re-record some of her best career hits in a span of 2 days (as the rumour goes) only to have her entire discography completely disappear from the internet shortly after retiring.

oh I wasn't implying anything about Namie but her situation is still so weird and imo should have more global attention than it got...

They're one of the only artists from High School that I still follow-up on and listen to (and like!). Bad Mode was a good album I thought.

I love that they had 'Hotel Lobby' and 'About Me' on their Live Sessions album from 2022, I was like YES! Those were bops!! And they're so old they didn't HAVE to have them on the setlist but they did <3 <3
