Ari Aster and Don Hertzfeldt Developing Animated Existential Horror Movie

At the Overlook Film Festival this weekend Don Hertzfeldt attended a Q & A for his short film ME, and confirmed rumors that he would be working with horror auteur Ari Aster for an upcoming project.
According to those in attendance, the director said the project would be a “big/expensive project that he had been developing and trying to get made for the last 15 years.” He described the project as a “horror film in the same way his existentialist shorts are often seen as horror films.”
No further details are known, but this is the first confirmation since Hertzfeldt teased the collaboration earlier this year
