That's a good cast. Premise is kind of meh.

Having seen Dennis Boutsikaris on various Law & Orders, I always read his name as "Dennis Booty-rockus" in my head.

I will watch this for my Irish King regardless, but I hope it's good.

I think the writing is not great, but I am here for Colin Farrell, Amy Ryan, and the dog.

I might check this out. I just finished Ripley, and it is excellent. I know people here love the movie, but this is honestly just as good imo.

It actually benefited from a series to delve more into the psyche of Ripley. Fantastic cast and cinematography.

I think I might start Sugar tomorrow. If anyone else has an opinion lmk!

I think if they hadn't managed to cast big names like Colin Farrell and Amy Ryan, this show wouldn't be a blip on anyone's radar. The main character is a PI cliche - he is good and moral and kind and thoughtful, but everyone else around him is fucked up (he won't kiss a drunk woman, he gives a homeless guy $200 and offers to buy him a plane ticket home, he repeatedly says that he doesn't like to hurt people while punching bad guys). On top of that, he loves old movies so we get clips from classic movies interspersed throughout the episodes, faux artsy shots, dialogue edited so that it's overlapping, etc.

Yes THIS, it was soooo dull and cliché-ridden. I watched the 2 episodes in the background while working and dozing off (lol) bc I love Amy Ryan but it's such a boring and bad show.

Ontd would judge this because of their age difference aversion but idgaf that he’s 14 years older than me. I would and would be proud.

I'm interested, but I think I'll wait a bit for more episodes to get released because I'm so paranoid about the dog dying. I just can't handle shit happening to animals.
