Ladybyrd (who?) gets career boost from famous fan Tom Cruise
Tom Cruise has helped new musician Ladybyrd land an "amazing" TV theme tune.
After a chance encounter with Tom Cruise, the singer-songwriter discussed her love for film scores with the iconic actor, leading to a collaboration with The Mission Impossible composer for an upcoming TV show
She told BANG Showbiz: "I’ve always loved film scores and I’m a big fan of Tom Cruise and his movies, so when a chance opportunity came for me to chat to him, I took it.
" It was amazing to talk to him about music, film scores and the 'Mission: Impossible' composer, who he then put me in touch with.
"This has led to me having an exciting opportunity to sing vocals on a theme tune for a TV series coming out soon."
When it comes to movie scores, the 'Way Back Home' singer is a particular fan of Hans Zimmer.
She said: "There are so many [of his scores]. But I think the one I’ve been most drawn to is his famous piece ‘Time’ from Inception. It’s the one that never fails to give me goosebumps. It builds up masterfully, and I love to play it on the piano whilst having it play on speakers in the background!
