who gives a fuck? i knew drake when he was running around with brian setzer and he's always been a predatory asshole. it sucks what he went through but it doesn't excuse all of the awful shit he's done as an adult and i am disgusted everyone is givin him a pass to rewrite the narrative

It is a weird cultural shift. 100% this shouldn't have happened to him but it's weird he's getting a redemption story since none of the news outlets have mentioned his own sexual predatory behaviour.

I'm glad he's been able to talk about what he went through and have people believe him now. But I also wish the documentary did hand wave the allegations against him away either. They are so much worse than how it was presented in the documentary.

He should not have gone through what he did as a child, but it does not excuse his behavior as an adult. People have begun attacking his victims and accusing them of lying.

Yeah. I have sympathy for what happened to Drake but it seems like he is using this to rebuild his tarnished reputation and we're not gonna do it. Drake is still a terrible person, with allegations of domestic abuse in addition to him being a groomer.

And homegirl from Zoey 101 is pissing me off too. It's even worse for her because her problem with Nickelodeon was being bullied by Jamie Lynn Spears. Her abuse story took place after she left the show. Yet somehow, now she's Drake's bestie and she forgot about "believing victims".

Yeah, Alexa Nikolas is gross for building a platform on survivors and then befriending an abuser. I really supported what I thought was her mission, but it's clear now that her mission is attention.

I had to unfollow her after she consistently showed support for him without acknowledging his problematic behaviour even though many people kept tweeting her about it. Her also doing that while shitting on Jamie Lynn Spears and Victoria Justice for being mean to her when they were 12/13 pissed me off.

Alexa's resentment towards Victoria Justice is absolutely bizarre to me. She said not too long ago that Victoria was one of the worst people ever because... she chose to be friends with Jamie Lynn over her? And then she started talking about how Victoria is jealous of Ariana (which is something she couldn't possibly know, since Alexa and Victoria haven't spoken to each other in over a decade. And even if she was jealous, what the hell does that have to do with anything?), clearly to bait Arianators to hate on Victoria.

Victoria also worked with Dan Schneider for way longer than Alexa, so you'd think Alexa would show some sympathy and consider that perhaps Victoria has her own trauma to deal with.

She's bringing her middle school drama into serious conversations about child abuse and how institutions protect predators and is also helping cover up the allegations against Drake. Shameful behavior on her part.

sorry i didn't mean to imply anything specific about brian, just context for the time frame i knew him. with that said though, brian and dave took him under their wing back in the early 2010s and were trying to develop him as a mainstream rockabilly revival act and really pushing him in the socal scene which was having a bit of a renaissance at the time. drake was already midtwenties and it wasn't a secret he went for jailbait, then they sent him off on a high school tour lol

I dont know anything about the case but just from seeing many tiktoks about the docu so many people in the comments are saying the girl was an obsessed fan who lied about her age and when drake found out he cut off contact which pissed her off and she went to the police. and that her aunt? confirmed this. idk how much if any of that is true but that is the story being spread in defense of him whenever people bring him up
