My cousin who had a failed acting career loves to remind people of the low-budget frat boy comedy she was in 20 years ago wearing a very tiny bikini, and I hope her tween sons don't brag about that.
LMAO I tried to find the name of it the other day but I can't find it, and my cousin doesn't have an IMDb page (but mysteriously still has a Model Mayhem one). It was one where they licensed the National Lampoon name just to slap it onto the movie but it was direct to video/DVD.
My Mom's best friend (they've been best friends since high school) was the Assistant Director on Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, Steel Magnolias, Driving Miss Daisy, etc. etc. and you better bet I'm telling everyone about her and all her celebrity stories (mostly just about Dolly Parton being an absolute peach), and the fact that I guess I'm one/two degrees from Kevin Bacon since she directed a movie he was in. She comes out to Atlanta occasionally for work so we've gotten to spend some time with her and she's lovely. Absolutely none of us are in the business (the whole family is in different parts of STEM) but I'd go straight to her if I ever was lol.
I'm also fine with telling people my parents helped me get my first undergrad public health internship through church friends, who helped find a mentorship for me. Like obviously I qualified for it but the connections were key to finding people to work with who had time to teach me. It's fine to say you had help and then let the rest of your career speak for itself.
Ma'am! If I had direct ties to Twin mother fucking Peaks, I would sing it from the rooftops!!!

I think they were attempting to basically recreate Van Wilder and failed. It was NOT Van Wilder I know that.
